I can’t remember where we were going this day, but I do remember wanting to get the photograph, although we were quite a distance away, so I used the long telephoto to quickly snap this.
This is where the City’s garbage dump meets the Body Dump, or more respectfully called the Le Repentir Cemetery.
The smoke was drifting across from the burning garbage (it apparently spontaneously combusts periodically), the excavator was clearing some paths and moving some garbage, and the birds were just hanging around for the “disturbed” earth and garbage. 🙂

so sad, they really need to clean up the place and make it more visitor friendly… I mean after all… people’s loved ones are buried there
The last time they decided to clean up, it amounted to just torching the place… 🙂
Hi Michael. Man I love the photo. I think you should go back and take the photo again now that the tractor has left. Hope the birds will still be there though. Regards. Cecil
Thanks Cecil, I think maybe we can revisit the Cemetery, with company… that place is scary! 🙂
It is amazing the variety of places you can find a good photo. The dump wouldn’t be the first place I’d think of, but clearly the potential exists.
Well, I wasn’t in the Dump, but passing on the road outside, and I couldn’t help stopping to get this. 🙂 You never know what you’ll find to photograph wherever you go 🙂
Up here they install pipes that allow the gas to escape. Can you imagine the amount of chemicals that dump produces and then gets washed back into the water. I sometimes wonder if any of it goes into the water that goes into the reservoir and then to the taps…….
I prefer not to think about it… especially given the lack of research that probably went into it here 🙂
