This week, the seawall continues its pull on me, when the “feeling” for photography is not with you, go somewhere that relaxes you, even if just for a few minutes. A short walk along the wall and you either come away relaxed or relaxed and with a few photos that were worth the walk 🙂
This week’s shot may not be the best technically, but it captured a “moment”, and that’s what I liked about it. People go to the seawall for many reasons, one of the customary ones is exercise, you feel the fresh air blowing over you and you feel rejuvenated, and you can run or walk, and like this guy, exercise your wrists 🙂
Seawall’s been good to us (‘cept for that one time 🙂 but I think here it has been exceptionally good to you. Glad you were equal to the challenge. This is brilliant! Iconic even.
Thanks Nik! I turned around and there it was, couldn’t Not take a shot 🙂
This looks like the British art installation called ‘The Angel of the North,
Thanks Nigel, I had not known of this until you mentioned it, I read up some on it, an interesting art piece. I think I am flattered that you would compare a photo of mine to a work of art 🙂
What a wonderful feeling this image gives me. I can almost smell that salty evening breeze. (And I hadn’t realized before that my wrists are a little tight!) 🙂
Thanks Cindy, I am so happy to hear from you! I like how you expressed this, it gives me no small amount of satisfaction to hear that it generated that amount of reaction! 🙂
Love the silhouette, great capture.
Thanks David, this was one of those moments when something my friends say strikes home to me, “Carpe Diem” 🙂
Forget about it being technically not your best work – it’s a fantastic capture of the mood that overtakes you at the seawall – the sense of space, fresh air, sound of the waves, etc. That fella looks like he is just letting his mind go free and letting his body follow. Now that’s freedom of expression…
Thanks Nas, I think you’re right. Walk into the setting sun, the wind blowing across your face, just relax and feel your troubles blow away with the wind.
Wow!, there are so many things I like about this image. The solhouette, the placement, the angling of the shoreline leads you right to him, the beauiful sky and water and the crispness of black and white. What a wonderful capture!
Thanks Jonathon, it was a good afternoon for photography 🙂 As usual I really appreciate your descriptiveness of what you like, really brings it to me 🙂
This is a beautiful moment – and nothing wrong with this photo technically either!
Thanks JP 🙂 Really great to hear from you!!!
