It seems that there is seldom enough hours in a day, either that or I’m getting lazy 🙂 Saturday was a little rough, and I didn’t get around to posting my regular Deck blog-post, so it was left for today. SO, I’m squeezing in a few minutes to write this and post it.
In between being busy and being lazy, there are times when I just want to sit and stare at a scene that makes me feel at peace. to forget that there is war in the middle east, tragedy in Japan, injustices in Africa, crazy weather in North America, every country in the world has its problems, and we have impending elections here in Guyana; disasters every one of these thoughts.
This might help explain my choice for this week’s Deck photo 🙂
Sit back, relax, clear your mind, and just stare towards the setting sun…

One of the reasons our escapes (like photography) are so important. If we had to worry about all these things we would probably just go mad. Everyone needs an escape valve.
Definitely Nik, escapes!
We too are having an election in a few short weeks, though I doubt much will change, the same old same old politicians and each avoiding addressing the concerns of the people. Only addressing what they consider important and denigrating other party leaders. Sigh!
I love your photo, and I love the idea of just putting it all to rest for the night.
I try to stay out of politics… it’s just too depressing and once you get into a “discussion” it always turns into an argument 🙂
Lovely sunset and I wish I could be there at the beach relax/unwind, enjoy the shoreline and watch the sun set.
Sasi, I know what you mean… although I complain a lot about “time”, I’ve always maintained that we have to “make” the time, or we’ll go berserk 🙂
Michael, it is a lovely sunset to get lost in and forget about the troubles of today’s world. Even if for only few moments. They matter.
Thanks Martina, sometimes the days seem crowded with things that don’t matter, and just a moments relaxation and reflection can put things in perspective.
Mike, although I dislike the heat, I would gladly share a beer while enjoying such a wonderful sunset with you! It does indeed look very relaxing.
Thanks David, if you’re ever passing across South America, and through Guyana, I’ll take you up on that! 🙂
Although I’m very late in (as usual)it works for me. I am totally game to sit absorbed in this tranquil scene for a while, forgetting absolutely everything else. It is perfect for a meditation.
Cindy, you’re early 🙂 I have blogs going back weeks to comment on 🙂
I want to go sit by a creek and listen to it flow, gurgle and fall asleep to that!
