2015 Deck – Week 45

A walk on the seawall… or at this point, the dam that has rocks beyond it.

Maybe not appealing on an artistic level to many, but to Guyanese, it has some appeal 😀

2015 Deck – Week 44

When I took this, the man who looked after the fields was rapidly approaching us… with tools in hand, so I didn’t even try multiple exposures; I knew that by shooting into the sun I’d blow the highlights, but it’s something I could live with, just to get this scene.

That tractor is probably twice my age, and it takes a lickin’ and keeps on tickin’.

2015 Deck – Week 43

This was one of those photos when you’re very glad you noticed the subject/scene and that you had a phone handy that had a decent camera built-in.

I suppose the “not-so-fast” fast food service helped by giving me the opportunity to sit and wait, and in waiting notice the shot 🙂

There I was, sitting at a table in the fast-food delivery section of the New Thriving Chinese Restaurant on Main Street, when I noticed the reflection of the backlit Menu on the glass table top, pretty much could not resist taking the photo.

2015 Deck – Week 42

Following a week of hospitalization, I had another couple weeks of confinement to Barracks.  As it happens this first week in my comfortable cell (house and yard, but mostly the bedroom) was even more productive for me and Instagram. 🙂

Here’s a view from my bedroom… complete with the wrought iron barrier for the prison-like feeling 🙂

2015 Deck – Week 41

For the duration of week 41 of 2015, I was out of circulation, I was in hospital for a bit of minor surgery, and amazingly, I got a few good pics with the phone…  😀

This is one that I favour above the other few good ones.

I think that my Instagram experiment this year was a success, I do not regret it at all, not with  a few gems like this coming from it:

2015 Deck – Week 40

My Jhandi addiction continues, I just find them visually appealing.  Of course, getting a shot of them that doesn’t look like ones I’ve already taken is getting more and more difficult.

This one was a toss up between this coloured portrait oriented version and a landscape oriented BW processed one, but the coloured one appeals to me on a different level, even though I tend towards the BW because I had originally intended the landscape ones as such because of the textures and contrast in the water / foam of the sea.

I hope you like it.

2015 Deck – Week 39

Today is Roots Day (not the day I took the photo, but the day I am posting it, December 23rd).

Although not a widespread day of observance, it’s probably a good thing for us to look back at who we are, who our parents and their ancestors were, where we’ve come and what has made us who we are today.

We may also want to reflect on these things and consider what we are passing on to the next generation.

That being said, here’s a photo of my youngest daughter… part of the next generation.
